About the E-SPIN SJI

The Engineering Student Preferences in Navigating Situational Judgment Inventory (E-SPIN SJI) has 19 scenarios, with five response options for each scenario.  The scenarios are typical demands and challenges that arise when navigating undergraduate engineering. The response options highlight various ways to get support. The purpose of this assessment is to help undergraduate students better understand how they prefer to navigate engineering programs and to better support them in their navigation.

The E-SPIN SJI was created by a team of engineering education researchers at Virginia Tech and external collaborators.
